Personalized 🍃Realistic 🍇 Flexible 🌱Sustainable 🍒Transformational
Functional Nutrition Counseling
Most people do not know we have daily opportunities to positively influence genes, and cell regeneration that supports restoration. I help people who've “tried everything”, and are not at health levels they desire; despite age, condition and their great efforts.
Upon your first session, we will discover root causes to conditions - in view of your story, and assessment. My personalized clinical review, recommendations and plan will support your goals for health and vitally.
Food and lifestyle impact everything in the Functional Medicine (FM) Tree, and matrix. The tree represents your body. Below surface root causes contribute to above ground conditions.
Once we determine your unique causes and effects, a flexible plan is established to support personal nutritional and metabolic pathway needs. This may include recommendations for testing and supplementation. Your heath is in your hands. You are the medicine.

Mind-Body & Stress Resilience Counseling
“The biggest stressors for humans are emotional ones. The biggest stress of all is trying to be who you are not.”
— Dr. Hans Selye 1907-1982 Founder of “The Stress Theory”
Mental wellness is critical for health. It affects us all in how we think, feel, act and respond to stress. At the root is unresolved trauma - which is what has happened in the body as a result of events outside of it. This all influences how we make choices. Poor health is shaped by poor lifestyle choices influenced by cultural “norms” and our environment. You did not create your state of health on your own. However, you can change it at any time.
Health transforms out of small changes that create lasting impact over time (“2 Degree Shift”). Integrating mind-body medicine with clients is foundational to my work. As a result, my clients are able to find and create a healthy “window of tolerance” for change. They learn how to minimize stress, and how to process it in a healthier way.
“Trauma is the invisible force that shapes our lives. It shapes the way we live, the way we love and the way we make sense of the world. It is the root of our deepest wounds.”
— Gabor Mate’ MD, best-selling author “The Myth of Normal”, and “The Wisdom of Trauma” documentary.
“Is the U.S. healthcare system expensive, complicated, dysfunctional, or broken? The simple answer is YES to all.”
Harvard Health, Harvard Medical School

✬ Important Service Considerations with Functional Medicine & Nutrition Services
Ensure that you are working with qualified professionals . They should be: ☆ a credentialed health care provider following a code of ethics, who has a ☆ national &/or ☆ state nutritionist licensure or certification; ☆ have completed a professional accredited training which includes testing-out to acquire a credential in Integrative and Functional Nutrition, and has a ☆ Nutrition Degree(s). ☆ They should have experience in clinical settings where application, learning and practice take place. In addition, ☆ credentialed healthcare providers are required to ☆ stay current in practice by training throughout their practicing career, via completion of continuing education units (CEUs) related to their specialty.
☆New York State is one of four states that does not regulate dietitian/nutritionist licensure. A NY State certification for dietitians/nutritionists allows for those certified, and those that are not, to practice nutrition, make clinical recommendations and charge for services.

Mid-age Female. Long-term Chronic Conditions
“For decades I battled GI, blood pressure, cholesterol and over-weight conditions. Mary Beth was very calming from the get go, and assured me that I was moving in the right direction, but needed to tweak a few things. I loved the breath-work she offers. It was peaceful, increased my awareness, and enhanced my acceptance of this work. Mary Beth reviewed MD notes, test results, factored in my mental health, daily lifestyle, provided new insights and info that even raised my eyebrows. Following her recommendations, I gained positive results within days, and over time this has enhanced. This is manageable, sustainable and I feel my best! I can’t express enough how thankful I am that I found Mary Beth !
